Description+
After the first monsoon shower, the garden comes back to colour. Dhanak is the Urdu-Hindi word for rainbow, and it fits: a small buta of stem, leaf, and round bud scattered across cotton in two versions, one warm (olive and rose on cream), one cool (teal and violet on white), each carrying a different hour of the same garden. The buta, a single compact flowering sprig repeating across a ground, is among the oldest shorthand of Indian printed textiles, a motif printers have brought back season after season because it works on any cloth. Cotton here is doing what it does best: breathable, honest, given shape by three generous tiers that open into a wide hem. Wear it to a daytime mehendi or a Dussehra afternoon that belongs outdoors.
