Description+
Gulbadan is an old Mughal word, "rose-bodied," and it was also the name of a fine flowered silk worn in the courts. It suits a set where the silk and the flowers are the whole story. The kurta is Roman silk, smooth and soft-sheened with enough weight to hold its shape, and the work sits where it counts: a gold zari border framing the neckline, hand embroidery in rust, green and gold along the placket, a few small drops at the centre. The deep purple body stays plain so that detail reads clearly, and a soft cotton inner keeps it wearable all day. The dupatta answers in sheer organza, printed with white lilies and bordered in the same gold, light enough to drift when you move. The straight Roman silk pant finishes the line. For the engagement lunch or the family function where you want to look considered rather than loud.

"If it isn't in the fabric, it isn't worth the price."
Every kurta set lists its GSM, the weight of the fabric per square metre. Higher isn't always better; it depends on the season and the silhouette.
